TAT, TM, and computer-assisted translation: new words that translate into savings

It is natural to imagine translation as a field where professionals work alone in their office, in front of a computer, and surrounded by a myriad of dictionaries. The age when translators imposed their turnaround times and rates without taking repetitions into consideration has passed.

Over the last decade, the translation industry has integrated new technologies. Many software programs and online resources designed to assist translators in their lexical research have appeared, enabling agencies to provide clients with more precision, efficiency and quality, as well as real savings based on a precise calculation grid.

Analysis and degressive pricing

All projects we receive undergo an analysis evaluating exactly how much they will cost and how long they will take. Each element of the analysis—"new words," partial or complete repetitions (with different percentages), segments that have already been translated and stored in the client's memory—is attributed a price per word reflecting the effort required for that particular element. Obviously, the more documents you have us translate, the more text we store in your memory; ultimately, you benefit from lower rates and quicker turnaround times.
